The role

Industrifonden is looking for a scientifically deep, commercially experienced and exceptionally driven investment professional to join our Life Science Team. The role is full-time and based in Stockholm (at least three days a week).

We invest in early-stage innovative life science companies, typically at Seed and Series A, initially €1–5M with significant reserves for follow-ons. The scope is calibrated to experience; senior candidates are expected to lead investments, work closely in the board, with CEOs and co-investors as a trusted partner.

As Investment Professional you will:

• Build and maintain a strong network across the Nordic research, startup, and investor community and represent Industrifonden externally.

• Support and develop portfolio companies, including serving as a board member or observer

• Source, evaluate, and lead investments from first meeting through investment committee and closing

• Lead, conduct or support due diligence

• Share knowledge with and learn from the rest of the team

• Help shape how Industrifonden invests, including our processes and ways of working

What we are looking for

• A strong scientific foundation in life science, with a PhD, MD or equivalent scientific training in a relevant field

• 8+ years of relevant experience from life science investing, R&D, business/corporate development or operational leadership. Solely academic research experience is not sufficient

• A track record of leadership and successfully driving things forward: specific programs, deals, companies or teams where the outcome depended on you

• Analytical rigour and the judgment to know when to go deep and when to move fast

• Curiosity across therapeutics, healthtech and enabling technologies, with significant experience in at least one these areas

• Experience from tight-knit and highly collaborative high-performing teams

• Fluency in English
  

Apart from the above it is also highly meriting if you have:

• Life Science venture capital experience

• Hands-on drug development and/or business development experience from industry (biotech, pharma)

• Entrepreneurial experience

• Board or advisory experience with early-stage life science companies

• Fluency in Swedish or another Scandinavian language
